BC Forestry put out a call to Alberta Forestry for help.
Alberta Forestry requested Rick to come to Kelowna to help with the fire.
Rick defended Kettle Valley Trestles.
By the time Rick was called in, the Fire had advanced too far and blocked access to the rest of the Trestles.
The losses of the Trestles was nearly $20M.
However, Rick coordinated the plan and used Fire Gel to save Trestle 1.
Rick was now considered a Fire Gel expert.
IC commander introduced Rick to all of the Gel manufacturers who, by this time, had flocked to the fire.
Shortly thereafter, Rick tested, and evaluated, all of the Gels.
