What Do We Do?

Firefox and its team is dedicated to testing and implementing the most effective means and products necessary to control wildfire. Firefox has become the exclusive distributor for the only Firegel in the world, that is friendly to the environment. All other gels contain NPEs (Nonylphenol Ethoxylates) and petroleum distillates. NPEs are on the Canadian toxic chemicals list, and not to be used. Firegel’s proprietary formula has evolved and was engineered to perform in the rigorous applications of wildfires. After it does it job, the sun’s ultraviolet light breaks it down so it can return to the earth.

For various reasons, forest wildfires have grown in size and cost. While water has been effective for control small fires, larger fires represent additional complications. The heat from these fires is so intense, that water will evaporate before reaching the fire. Chemical or water enhancers have become essential to attack large fires. The ubiquitous red cloud of an aerial retardant attack has become an common image seen, when media covers wildfire news. For decades, retardants have been the only tool/chemical used in air-tankers and helicopter wildfire deployments. Costs have sky-rockets and also the effectiveness of these chemicals has attracted a substantial amount of criticism from environmental researchers, agencies, and litigators over the years for their role in fish toxicity, freshwater eutrophication, and fertilizing invasive vegetation. Conversely, Firegel is now available to address all of those issues, and still be the most effective products for what matter most…it puts out the fire.

As you see in our website, there is plenty of experience and results to demonstrate why Firefox Wildfire, and Firegel, are one of the most important breakthroughs in battling fire…since the discovery of fire.
