Breakthrough Results in a 2,500 Hectare Fire

Firefox Wildfire was engaged by the County of Parkland to support wildfire suppression operations.

During the operation, Firefox tested an early version of Barricade Gel with outstanding results. The gel proved far superior to traditional foam suppression methods, not only extinguishing the fire effectively but also helping hold the line and prevent re-ignition.

The operation successfully extinguished a 2,500-hectare fire.

This deployment took place around the same time the province introduced the Mutual Aid Resource Agreement and Urban Interface regulations. Under these updated requirements, the company was required to obtain an Alberta contract to continue using the gel. In addition, the gel needed to be listed on the Qualified Products List (QPL).

Forestry personnel in the area observed the progress of the fire from a distance. Later, representatives from Forestry (now Alberta Wildfire) witnessed firsthand the effectiveness of the gel during suppression efforts.

Comments were that the Gel was realy impressive. He had never seen anything like that before.

He introduced Firefox to FP Innovations, and recommended that Gel get tested for use in Alberta.
